Consider state tax benefits before investing

The NextGen 529 is the Maine 529 plan. The NextGen 529 provides certain benefits only to residents of the state of Maine. If you or the intended beneficiary are not residents of the state of Maine, you should consider whether your home state or your beneficiary's home state 529 plan offers any state tax or other benefits that are only available for investments in that state's Section 529 plan. You should consult with your tax or other advisors to learn more about how state-based benefits (including any limitations) would apply to your specific circumstances.

Use the State Tax Deduction Calculator below to determine if your home state or your beneficiary's home state offers a state tax deduction that is only available for investment in that state's Section 529 plan.
